Jedi Council

The High Council was the primary governing body of the Jedi Order, and comprised twelve Jedi Masters who discussed and contemplated all aspects of the Order. The council was composed of five permanent members
who have accepted a lifetime commitment to the Council. In addition four long-term members served until they chose to step
down, and the limited-term members sat on the council for specified terms. Like the other four Old Republic-era Jedi Councils,
the High Council was disbanded due to the enaction of Order 66.
This Council took care of matters requiring the wisdom of past Jedi Masters or Council members, and
gave advice to the High Council and any Jedi who requested it.
This Council sought after peaceful settlements to political disputes on Coruscant or other worlds in
the Republic. Adi Gallia, Oppo Rancicis, and others would take part in this Council from time to time.
This council handled the organization of work for young Jedi who had not been chosen by Jedi Masters to be Padawan apprentices.
Following the establishment of the New Jedi Order, Luke Skywalker considered establishing a new Jedi Council, but avoided any formal establishment. When the Galactic Alliance was founded, a decision was made to form a High Council consisting in part of Jedi and in part of Alliance government officials, to ensure the Jedi and government
would cooperate rather than be at odds, as happened with the Old and New Republics.
By 35 ABY, the New Jedi Order had established a Masters' council. Unlike the High Council, which was essentially a body of the Alliance government serving in an advisory
role to the Chief of State, the Masters' Council was the leading body of the Order, dealing with strictly Jedi matters and
autonomous from the Alliance government. The absoluteness of its control over the Jedi Knights was a matter of debate. The
Masters' council alternately assembled either at the new Jedi Temple on Coruscant or at the new Praxeum on Ossus.
Lightsaber combat
All lightsaber forms that jedi on the lightside of the force may learn.
Form I: Shii-Cho
- Attack: a set of strikes aimed at different body zones
- Parry: a set of blocks to thwart any attack in the specified body zones
- Body target zones (1, head; 2, left arm; 3, right arm; 4, back; 5, left leg; 6, right leg)
- Training drills called velocities
Form II: Makashi
After Form I's proliferation as a saber combat technique, Form II came about as a means of lightsaber-to-lightsaber
combat. It is described as being very elegant, powerful, and requiring extreme precision, allowing the user to attack and
defend with minimal effort, while his opponent tires himself out.
Form III: Soresu
Soresu utilizes motions occurring very close to the body to achieve near-total protection, efficiently
expending as little energy as possible to execute these moves.
Form IV: Ataru
In dire situations, Form IV practitioners use the Force to aid in their acrobatics. Spinning, jumping and running very high and very fast, masters of Form IV
are sometimes only seen as a blur. In order to achieve the acrobatic prowess, amazing reflexes and physical punch of this
form, a Jedi Master would focus on the Force, letting it flow deeply throughout his entire physical being, even allowing him
to overcome the limitations of old age, or poor conditioning.
